Homeowner Federal Tax Credit

Lindsay can save you money on your energy bills and possibly qualify you for a $1,500 credit on your federal income tax!*

2009 passage of the Economic Stimulus Plan means homeowners can take advantage of tax credits for energy-efficient improvements, which includes Lindsay windows and doors.

The tax credit is equal to 30% of the cost of qualifying energy efficient upgrades, up to a maximum of $1,500 for 2009 and 2010.This includes all Lindsay Windows with our 366 glass.

There are some technical window requirements that must be met, including U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient less than or equal to 0.30. Talk to your Lindsay dealer for more information.

Other details:

• Keep your sales receipt and our manufacturer's certificate.
• Purchase must be made before Dec. 31, 2010.
• Claim your tax credit on your Federal return for the applicable 2009 and/or 2010 tax year.
• You can download IRS form 5695 here.
• Tax credit applies only to the price of remodel products. It does not apply to any installation fees or charges.

IRS Releases Important Update for Rebate
The IRS released important information regarding the $1,500 tax credit as part of the 209 Economic Stimulus Plan.

In summary, here is how the tax credit works:
Windows purchased between 1/1/2009 and 5/30/2009

Must meet the current energy start criteria. Any Lindsay window product purchased with Low-E glass (either Cardinal 272 or Cardinal 366) qualify for Energy Star.

Windows purchased between 6/1/2009 and 12/31/2010

Must have a u-value of equal to or less than .30 and a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of .30 or below. All Lindsay Window products with 366 Low-E qualify and some products with 272 Low-E qualify.
